Carl MacKinnon Memorial Scholarship Foundation
The Carl MacKinnon Memorial Scholarship Foundation is a federally incorporated nonprofit organization established in 2026 in memory of Carl Edward MacKinnon. Rooted in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, the foundation supports graduating students whose lives have been touched by diabetes, whether through their own experiences or those of a family member or loved one. Beginning in 2027, the foundation will award an annual scholarship to a deserving Cape Breton student pursuing post-secondary education. Each year, the scholarship will grow in size. Through community partnerships and continued growth, The Carl MacKinnon Memorial Scholarship Foundation aims to create meaningful educational opportunities while honouring Carl's legacy, his connection to Cape Breton, and his family's commitment to giving back.
