The Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce advocates for policies, investments, and decisions that support business growth and strengthen the local economy.

We work directly with members, government, and community partners to identify challenges, bring forward practical solutions, and ensure business perspectives are part of the conversations shaping the CBRM.

Through surveys, roundtables, policy submissions, government meetings, public events, and direct member engagement, we help make sure local businesses are heard.

CBRM Business-Friendly Report Card

The CBRM Business-Friendly Report Card is an annual Chamber initiative that gathers direct feedback from local businesses on the conditions affecting growth, investment, and day-to-day operations. The report card helps identify what is working, where improvements are needed, and how the Chamber can advocate for a more business-friendly CBRM.

Letters, Submissions & Policy Input

The Chamber brings business perspectives forward through letters, submissions, and direct engagement with government. These efforts help communicate local business priorities on issues such as taxation, infrastructure, workforce development, permitting, transportation, public safety, and regulatory clarity.

Regional & National Advocacy

As part of the broader Chamber network, we also help connect local businesses to regional and national advocacy efforts through the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. When relevant, we share, support, and participate in advocacy work that reflects the needs and priorities of businesses in the CBRM and across Atlantic Canada.
