29 Oct Small Business Week 2020
Small Business Week is a national, week-long celebration for local businesses throughout thousands of communities across Canada. From October 19th to 24th, 2020 our Chamber took some time to bring our business community closer together through education, professional development, networking and celebration. As an organization that supports, advocates, and empowers our small business community throughout the entire year, we were excited to provide the businesses of the CBRM with many opportunities to learn, collaborate and network during Small Business Week 2020.
If you missed our virtual sessions, not to worry! We now have recordings available here:
WHY DO WE CELEBRATE SMALL BUSINESS WEEK?
Small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are the foundation of the Canadian economy, accounting for 99% of all businesses. In 2015, SMBs employed approximately 10.5 million Canadians in the private sector. With the small business industry growing, it is important that we take the time to recognize their successes and recommend helpful tools and resources to help them make smart financial decisions.
Our goal in hosting this important week is to demonstrate how much we value our local business community and thank them for their dedication to economic growth in the CBRM – especially through the challenges that many of them have faced in 2020.
